About

Meet Captain Scott

Hello! I’m Captain Scott Brown.

I have been plying the East Coast of the United States since I was a baby. From Key West to New York, and many places in between, ……all over the Abaco Islands in the Bahamas and especially Jupiter, Florida.  My Marine career has spanned 6 decades. Many captains have given me credit for helping to spawn their careers as well.  I started working in Stone Harbor  NJ professionally In 1973 aboard the 73’ party boat “Capt. Cramer” sailing out of Stone Harbor, but I rapidly graduated to Sport Fishing Aboard The “Bounty Hunter” under the legendary auspices of Captain Ronald Lane (also sailing from Stone Harbor).

Over the years one philosophy has dominated my Consciousness. My love for the Ocean and it’s amazing soothing and healing powers. I have found the expanses of the ocean spiritual and often refer to it as my church. I welcome you to join me on the Rising Tide. I always have a great time out on the water, and I bet you will too.

Advance purchase is highly recommended as there is limited capacity and trips often sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance. Tickets can be purchased with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

  • I have never been fishing before. Is that okay?

Oh sure, nothing like a new experience! Our crew will assist you.

  • What time should I arrive?

We suggest guests arrive a minimum of 30 minutes before the boat is scheduled to leave so you can check in and have time to get settled. The trip will leave promptly on time!

  • Is this trip suitable for pregnant women?

We do not put any limitations on who may or may not attend, however pregnant women may want to consult with their doctor before participating to make sure this activity is appropriate for them.

  • Are children allowed?

Yes, children are allowed to join us. We think ages 5-6 may be a good age to get a child oriented with this traditional sport. However, please keep in mind that parents know their children best and should determine whether it is appropriate for their child.

  • Can I still go on the boat if I don’t want to fish?

Yes, you can. We will cater a special package of sightseeing and nature watching just for you and your family.

  • What happens if it rains?

We will still go out in light rain and other moderate weather conditions. If the weather is severe and we must cancel, you can reschedule to another trip or receive a credit for a future event. If it’s a rainy day, please dress appropriately.

Your upcoming excursion will be hosted aboard Rising Tide’s 34’ Custom Jarrett Bay Sport Fisherman, the Lady Lou.

You’re welcome to bring your own food and beverages in a small cooler. For your convenience, we’ll have a large cooler on board stocked with water, soft drinks, and a variety of snacks such as potato chips. A refrigerator is also available to help keep your sandwiches fresh and dry.

We provide all the necessary tackle and gear—just bring yourself! Your fishing license is included, and you'll have access to top-quality rods, reels, bait, and tackle. Expect prompt, professional, and courteous service, expert guidance, and a healthy dose of good humor throughout the trip. Most importantly, your safety is our priority, and we ensure a safe return to the dock from which we departed.

While there are no strict limitations, individuals with health concerns or who are pregnant should consult their healthcare provider before the trip. Boating carries certain inherent risks, and we kindly ask that guests with pre-existing conditions acknowledge and accept these risks.

I’m confident you’ll have a great time—just like I always do.
